The velvet coating on LINARI products is made of a special material in which the fibers naturally straighten out again over time in areas where they have been pressed down. To speed up this process, the surface can be gently brushed with a soft brush. For stubborn indentations, lightly moisten the velvet surface in the depressed area with a water spray bottle beforehand.

Improper, shallow burning should be avoided at all costs. It prevents the wax surface from melting completely. Only the wax in the immediate vicinity of the wick melts and burns—a crater forms around the wick. When the candle is lit again, the wick, which ends below the wax surface, becomes submerged by the flowing wax.

When it comes to scented candles, there are two ways in which a scent is perceived. The "cold throw" is the scent a candle emits when it is unlit. It provides the first impression when you smell the candle directly. The “hot throw” describes the scent the candle releases while burning. This is what you perceive in the room, as the heat from the candle’s flame causes the fragrance oil bound in the wax to evaporate. The hot throw determines how intensely the candle scents the room while burning. Each fragrance has its own unique scent intensity.

Position the wicks so that the flame never burns directly against the glass. The scented candle may be burned down to a minimum wax level of 2 cm; risk of overheating and glass breakage! Always use the scented candle in an upright position on a secure, level, and heat-resistant surface. Always keep the scented candle away from drafts and flammable materials, and never leave it burning unattended or within reach of children or pets. The scented candle jar becomes hot while burning; there is a risk of burns. Do not move the scented candle jar until it has been extinguished and has cooled down. Always smother the flame—do not blow it out. Never attempt to extinguish the scented candle with water.

To ensure the scented candle burns evenly, make sure to reposition the wicks upright in the semi-hardened wax after each burn. Before each use, trim the cotton wicks with scissors to a length of approximately 3 mm and remove the characteristic twisted wick end that forms during prolonged burning. This prevents soot buildup and the formation of excessively large flames. Clean the inside of the candle jar and the wax surface, removing any dirt or foreign objects. Position the cotton wicks so that the flame never burns directly against the glass. The scented candle may be burned down to a minimum wax level of 2 cm; risk of overheating and glass breakage! Do not move the scented candle jar until it has been extinguished and has cooled down. Always smother the flame—do not blow it out. Never attempt to extinguish the scented candle with water. The candle should burn at least until the entire wax surface has completely melted. Ideally, extinguish the candle after no more than one additional hour. For optimal diffusion of the delicate fragrance, the scented candle should not be burned continuously for more than 4 hours. Improperly short burning periods will cause the wicks to become saturated when the candle is lit again.

The average burn time under optimal conditions for 190 g/1,000 g scented candles with cotton wicks is up to 40/120 hours. This time is reduced when burning in a drafty environment, when burning continuously for more than 4 hours, or when the flame is too large.

Remove the cellophane wrapping and take the scented candle out of the folding box. Before use, carefully read the safety instructions on the insert or on the packaging. Remove the candle lid and place it face down on a flat surface. The scented candle can now be safely placed in the groove on the underside of the lid and lit. The sustained diffusion of the fragrance begins as the wax melts. After use, smother the candle flame (do not blow it out) and then place the decorative lid over the mouth of the glass. This prevents accelerated diffusion of the infused fragrance oil from the surface layer of wax.

The darkening of wooden lids is a natural and irreversible process that highlights the beauty of the material. The rate at which the wood darkens depends largely on the duration and intensity of light exposure and can be slowed by avoiding strong light sources. The darkening effect of wenge wood is less pronounced and occurs regardless of light exposure.

Most commercially available Room Fragrances use inexpensive and simple ingredients designed to mask unpleasant odors—a task for which only dominant fragrance notes are generally suitable. In contrast, Linari uses exclusively high-quality eau de parfums—the same type used in the cosmetics industry—whose purpose is to diffuse a subtle and sensual fragrance, thereby creating a unique aromatic atmosphere.

Each scented candle has a specific fragrance intensity, which is perceived differently by each individual. However, the fragrance intensity also depends on external atmospheric conditions. The burning conditions—such as the height of the flame, the size of the pool of melted wax around the flame, and the burning time—have a significant influence on the fragrance intensity.
